If you are concerned about hosting your own Web Site then you will also appreciate hosting your own Password Manager. Just a few good reasons for hosting your own Password Manager are the Following:

- Secure Connection (Nobody watching your Passwords)
- High Encryption on Storage of Passwords (No One can browse on the Server of Choice)
- Your Own Server (You control the location and fees)
- The Ability of hosting anywhere on the Internet (Including your Home)
Setups / Configurations
There are Many Ways of setting up a professional password manager hosted securely in the cloud (The Internet). There are Many Program / Applications / Web Sites out there but very few that are (1) Secure (2) Usable on Multiple Operating Systems (3) Online and Offline Support (4) Cost (5) Personal Hosting. I personally like the Bit Warden System due it meets all my check boxes (just mentioned) and the amount of services it offers (Check their Web Site and Awards with comparisons with other Password Managers).
First of all and the most simple is use the Bit Warden Web System (On their servers) [https://bitwarden.com/]. Like any system out there the Pros and Cons come into mind. The Pros are the Maintenance and Updates are Handled by them (as a service) with security in mind. The Cons are Cost, as a service provided by them you Must Pay to use them…. However the Price Plans are very reasonable when security is concerned. You Also must rely on their Up-Time and Maintenance Schedule that might not be convenient to you. Like any Web Service when they go dark (Maintenance, DOS Attack, Bandwidth and IP/Port Blocking at your location) you have no access to your passwords.
The Second Way is Hosting a Application very similar to Bit Warden (using the same security and tools via same protocol as Bit Warden thus the same Apps can be used) and that is Vault Warden (A Free lightweight, open-source password manager server written in Rust that is compatible with official Bit Warden clients) [https://github.com/dani-garcia/vaultwarden]. The fact that is open-sourced software means the Cost is free and using one of many available rented servers on the web today your only costs are the hosting server. Like Bit Warden, Vault Warden stores all data encrypted on the server of choice (no unauthorized access) with all the tools and services Bit Warden has. The fact that you control the access / users you can now have a setup as many users / teams as you want with no extra costs involved (i.e. Family users, Work Setups, Personal Passwords).
A Third Way (the way I like to use) is Hosting Vault Warden on one of my internal servers (on my house network) via a Secured Reverse Proxy. This allows the ability of the Seconded Method with no extra Costs via Rentable Web Hosting. Host on an Internal Computer / Server using a Secure Operating System (Like Ubuntu Server [Free]) through a Secure Reverse Proxy Managing System (Like Cloudflare [https://www.cloudflare.com] and Nginx [https://nginxproxymanager.com/] or Pangolin [https://pangolin.net/] [All Free]), the only upfront onetime costs is the computer you are hosting onto. Remember you are already paying access to the Internet, why not use it for helping you to securely access the Million Of Passwords we have to memorize today, as well as generate very professional style Passwords on the fly.
